Additional Information and Parent Responsibilities:

Parent Education Course:

Lakeside is affiliated with Whatcom Community College. By enrolling at Lakeside, you are enrolling in a Parent Education Course through WCC.  Parents are required to work in class approximately two times per month per student enrolled at Lakeside, which counts toward the “practical” portion of the course.  The “classroom” portion is fulfilled through mandatory monthly parent meetings, held the first Tuesday of each month from 6:30-8:30pm (no childcare provided).

Fundraising Commitment:

Each family is required to fundraise $250, which can be accomplished through several fundraisers organized by the school, or simply by paying it directly.

Tuition:

Tuition is paid September through May and due by the parent meeting each month.  A $10 late fee will be assessed after the 10th of the month.  There is a 15% sibling discount for those with more than one child enrolled, which is applied toward the second sibling’s tuition.  Some families may qualify for tuition assistance. There is a 2.5% discount if the full year’s tuition is paid by the September parent meeting.

Fees:

A $100 non-refundable Registration Fee is due when rosters are created in late January.

A $100 Activity/Supplies Fee and $50 Cleaning Fee (refundable if you participate in a classroom cleaning) will be collected in September.

Parent Jobs:

Each family will be assigned a Parent Job (one job per student enrolled at Lakeside).  The Board President will assign this, with your preferences and interests taken into account as much as possible.  Parent jobs include Board positions, maintenance, classroom materials prep, fundraising committees, etc.
